As part of the Power Efficiency Project, pool deck air pressure testing will take place again to measure the success of improvement works made since the previous test that took place in 2025.
All pools will be closed on Saturday 26 September 2026.
Pools will be open as normal on Sunday 27 September.
Other services within the centre will not be impacted.
The Rural City of Wangaratta will deliver a major energy efficiency upgrade at the Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre (WSAC), reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing operational costs.
The $1.3 million project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian Government through the Community Energy Upgrades Fund.
The upgrade will modernise the centre’s heating systems and improve the building’s overall efficiency, helping to lower energy costs and emissions. Works include new high efficiency heat pumps, improved air‑sealing in the main pool hall and upgrades that will reduce reliance on gas.
