About the role
Personal trainers at WSAC are part of the Health Programming team. The work includes one‑on‑one sessions, small group training, and structured programs delivered in a busy public facility.
Trainers assess individual needs, design evidence‑based programs, and coach with care and professionalism. The focus is safe movement, clear communication, and realistic progress over time.
You will work under the guidance of the Health Programming Coordinator and alongside a team that shares common standards and values.

WSAC is a shared community space. People of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds use the centre every day.
As a trainer here, you are visible on the gym floor and part of the wider experience for members and visitors. Being approachable, patient, and consistent matters.
This is not a private studio or a members‑only gym. It is a public centre with a responsibility to the community it serves.
Staff at WSAC are guided by shared values of trust, respect, openness, fairness, excellence, and enjoyment.
The team takes pride in doing the work properly and contributing to a centre that locals rely on.
Our approach to health
The work here reflects a broad view of health.
Programs are shaped around individual needs, safety, and long‑term participation. Trainers work with beginners, regulars, older adults, and people returning to movement after time away.
A strong grounding in technique, progression, and evidence‑based practice is expected.
