We’re building active communities with support from VicHealth and the Rural City of Wangaratta by making it easier for women and gender diverse people to get involved and stay involved.

 

Many Victorian women find it challenging to get involved in sport and physical activity due to a range of reasons such as cultural or religious backgrounds, income or disability. So WSAC will host free group fitness classes at local outdoor venues, these activities and programs aim to provide a safe first step for women to start to get out and active in their local community.

 

Bookings preferred but not required. Everyone is welcome no matter your experience, fitness level, or background.

Mat Pilates – Barr 1 Oval

Tuesday 18 November, 7:00pm | Instructor: Penny

Pilates is for everybody. A total body workout, with powerful cross training benefits, focusing on strength, mobility and body alignment and breath control.

Zumba – King George Gardens

Thursday 20 November, 7:00pm | Instructor: Jenny

Zumba combines Latin, international music and dance to create a dynamic, fun workout for people of all fitness levels and age groups. It's fun, boosts your heart health, improves mental wellbeing and develops coordination.

Mat/Yoga Hybrid – Barr 1 Oval

This class focuses on alignment of the whole body while holding poses that support the spine and brings about the awareness of breath with movement, creating a feeling of calm within the body. Pilates is for everybody. A total body workout, with powerful cross training benefits, focusing on strength, mobility and body alignment and breath control.
