Our Stadium is Opening

We are pleased to announce our new multi sport stadium will open its doors to the public from Monday 13 January.

An Occupancy Permit has been issued for the new building following confirmation from fire safety experts that the stadium complies with building requirements. Over the coming weeks, our staff will finalise their operational and safety training to ensure a seamless and safe opening.

NBL game coming to WSAC!

For the first time in the club’s history, The Phoenix will head to Wangaratta to take on the Brisbane Bullets in a pre-season clash ahead of the Hungry Jack’s NBL25 season, set for Thursday, August 29.

We are excited to announce that the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre will host the very first basketball game in our brand-new multi-sport stadium.

Wangaratta's first CALD swimming program

This week the first Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) swimming program was held at the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre. Enrolment was strong, with 9 participants learning basic strokes and building confidence in the water. Providing swimming lessons to members of the CALD community is a crucial step in promoting water safety and reducing the risk of drowning within the community.

WSAC Upgrade Update

The continuing upgrade of the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre is progressing well despite some wet weather delays. The construction program for the indoor stadium which includes two new basketball courts, upgrades to the show court to competition level, and additional seating capacity for 900, is scheduled for completion in early 2024.
