WSAC team opening

Members and the broader community will be welcomed back to a refreshed Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre (WSAC) from Monday, 9 November.

Both the existing pools and the gym will re-open on 9 November, with swimming lessons to be available from 16 November.

Under current Covid-19 restrictions the centre will have a maximum of 20 people per pool and 20 in the gym at any one time.

The 9th will mark the first time WSAC has been open to the public since July, and the first time it will operate under direct Council management.

Council’s Sports, Aquatics and Events Precinct Manager Chloe Davies said the community can expect a strong customer focused approach at the centre, which has received major internal renovations to the foyer and café area, as well as a resurfaced pool deck.

“Our aim is that our members will come back to that same level of community they have enjoyed at the centre in the past, with some improvements to their customer experience both in person and when making bookings online,” she said.

“Our new team is working busily installing gym equipment and putting in place processes to keep everyone safe while Covid-19 restrictions are in place.”

"We can’t wait to welcome everyone back.

Further announcements around the opening of the new outdoor 50m pool, splash pad and indoor warm water pool will be made in the lead up to these facilities coming on line gradually throughout December.
