Every year the world celebrates International Yoga Day on June 21st to raise awareness about the importance and benefits of yoga.  Without a doubt, yoga brings body, mind, and spirit into balance.

“Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame.” (B.K.S. Iyengar)

Some fun facts:
  • 21st June was picked as Yoga day because this day marks the Summer solstice in the northern hemisphere and the Winer solstice in the southern hemisphere
  • The word Yoga is derived from Sanskrit, which means to unite: meaning to join the body and mind.
  • The first international Yoga day was celebrated in 2015.
  • Practicing Yoga regularly can enhance the mood significantly, it also fixes the breathing pattern.
  • Guinness World record titled the world’s oldest Yoga teacher to Ida Herbert who was 96 years old when the title was given to her.

Exercise helps us to stay optimistic and yoga helps us to explore new ideas and improve our mental health. Let’s practice yoga to remain fit and healthy after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
