What's new at WSAC

Tiling progress on the 50m outdoor pool

Refurbishment works at WSAC are moving along well, despite the recent COVID lockdowns.

RCoW project managers, Browns Wangaratta, sub-contractors and suppliers are applying all the current Covid-19 safe working guidelines to keep everyone safe.

New reception and Cafe

The reception area is being completely updated with new joinery, vinyl flooring, LED and feature lighting and express access gates. It will also be completely repainted.

The Cafe is undergoing a similar makeover and will have plenty of comfortable seating for parents and kids to relax in.

50m Outdoor Pool

The new outdoor pool is well underway, with tilers making good progress. There are 105,000 tiles to be laid!

Warm Water Pool

Works for the warm water pool hall area is also moving along at a fast rate with the pool sealing complete. New window frames are being installed, along with new lighting and air conditioning ducts.

Splash Pad

Buildings are starting to install the water features at our fun splash pad! This includes installing 21 tonnes of steel reinforcement!

Energy efficiency

Over the years, Council has installed various energy efficient upgrades to WISAC, such as LED lighting, rainwater and backwash retention to irrigation, and the installation of the Cogeneration unit.

A 60 kW solar system has been installed and now feeds power into the centre.  Double glazed windows have also been fitted to the Warm Water Pool Hall. The existing pool hall lights have been replaced with the latest LED fittings.

This upgrade will see a 65% power saving within that area and will provide a more even spread of lighting over the pool and concourse areas!
